As part of Ahli United Bank's keen interest to support Kuwait’s strength in digital technologies, Ahli United Bank (AUB) has proudly sponsored Women Tech Maker (WTM) Kuwait’s workshop which was recently held online. The workshop's focus was to train and educate participants on essentials in software development and programming with a special focus on a number of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics.
In this concern, Mrs. Sahar Dashti, General Manager Customer Protection, and the Head of AUB Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team congratulated all participants who completed the training in this workshop which could be a real shift in their future career assuring them that expanding and diversifying their knowledge circle is an achievement in itself. Women also have persistence and perseverance and can prove their merit through working hard. Adding that AUB demonstrates a clear example of this as our human resources comprises many successful women who work for many years in various departments and in the senior executive management of the bank.
Dashti further added that “Digital transformation has become critical to avail the power of digital technologies to help improve career prospects. This has been confirmed at the meantime in light of the repercussions of COVID-19, which highlighted the need to manage business online through digital platforms”.
Dashti stressed that AUB continues to participate in leading events especially in support of women's development and rehabilitation to keep abreast of what is new in the world of technology which in turn reflects the bank's overall strategy for digital transformation which is at the core of the bank's business. Raising awareness around the importance of adopting more digital solutions is part of the bank's wider social initiatives.
It is worth mentioning that Women Tech Makers (WTM) is a world-class education-oriented program with an integrated course designed by diverse experts and presented by a team of highly qualified professionals. WTM is a Google inspired program active since 2012 and has grown around the world including Kuwait. WTM Kuwait has been operating since October 2017 and joined Google Developer Group (GDG) in 2019. WTM has more than 1500 members who are interested in technology and keen to follow events. It has hosted more than 79 events so far. Google Developer Group (GDG) Kuwait strives to offer a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which people can connect, inspire and encourage each other to learn new technologies regardless of their level of knowledge and background. GDG Kuwait is always looking for local talents to join, develop their potential, get nominated for Google programs, seminars and scholarships. For those experts in technology, the program encourages them to volunteer and share their expertise with the community through training workshops and providing guidance to young people to qualify them to pursue world expertise certification as Google Developer Experts - GDE.
